Rieber PIP - Product Line 6” ~ 15”
The Rieber PIP gasket manufactured by Max Seal is molded from a rubber compound using state of the art machinery and processes. The gasket design has been in the market for more than 28 years, making it the industry standard due to the following well known characteristics:
Material and Performance
The Rieber PIP gasket, designed to work with pipe specified in ASTM-2241 is made of an elastomeric material (SBR being the standard) that complies with the latest versions of ASTM F477 and all the performance requirements put forward by ASTM D3139. Sizes from 6” to 12” incorporate a lip type design to achieve a low insertion force characteristic while complying with the pressure requirements of Standard SCS430-DD. For the 15” application, and due to pipe size compatibility, we use the LD Sewer gasket, that incorporates a metal band. The seals can be also manufactured under special order in materials like EPDM, Nitrile and Neoprene. The SBR rubber compound has been formulated as a self lubricating material to prevent the use additional lubricant when loading the gasket in the belling mandrel.
The gasket dimensions are compatible with existing belling tooling that has been in use since the inception of the product and are depicted in the table.
